Internship Reflection

End of Semester/Internship Reflection

My internship with the Department of Medicine at IU Health has helped me create a defining path of where I want to succeed as a future healthcare leader. It provided hands-on experiences, connections, and memories that I will take with me to my next chapter. The experience bridged my gap between academic theories and real life scenarios. I was able to gain a new perspective while studying ambulatory clinic exam room utilization that deepened my knowledge in the field.

Attending department meetings allowed me to connect with physician leaders, service line administrators, and division administrators. Going into my internship, one of my biggest weaknesses was the lack of confidence that I had in myself. However, my internship taught me how to independently introduce and recognize myself in-front of others.

One of the most valuable experiences I had during my time with the Department of Medicine is the cross-collaboration between speciality care. It helped me see how the organization prioritizes partnerships, growth, and research.

Our current healthcare system is defined by rapid change, but I was able to experience how IU Health plans to adapt to the dynamic environment while making Indiana one of the nation's healthiest states.

I am incredibly grateful for the experience and opportunity to learn from some of the best healthcare leaders.
